Well it’s been about 2 months since my last post in that time I have change jobs so time has been limited while I settle in, but last week I was able to start again re-working the quest generator, One thing that has helped me in this process of moving jobs, and a busy home life schedule is a website that some of you have probably heard of and that is dropbox.com. It’s an online storage system that allows you to store up to 2Gb for free or pay for more space if you need it.
This means my files can be stored online and I can access them anywhere there is an internet connection. It also has a backup function which allows you to access previous versions, so if something happens and you accidently delete the file or a portion of it, it’s very simple to go back and get a good copy of the file again. It makes it easy if I want to work on a file at work, at home or on a laptop in bed as long as there is an active internet connection you can work on the latest version of the document at any time. You don’t have to worry about keeping it on a USB that could get lost or become corrupt at some stage. If you are working on a project with a partner you can easily share the files between you.
Anyway that is my rant on a tool that can really help you stay on top of things.
What I have been working on, is the quest generator again. I left this fairly simple in design just enough info there to help give GM’s some ideas so they can easily roll up a few dice and have a plot laid out in about 15 minutes for them to run a game. With any luck I’ll have that part wrapped up by the end of the week and can start on writing the plot point campaign. I have a few ideas I just need to flesh them out a little.
